Acai bowls are basically a bowl of superfood packed banana nice cream! Why wouldn’t you want a bowl of ice cream and feel good about it for breakfast? Topped with fresh fruit and natural nutrition packed sprinkles, this truly is the breakfast of champions. The main ingredients in our Acai Bowl include Acai, Banana and Blueberries….

“What we do know about açai berry is that this low sugar fruit contains many health-related benefits due to the vitamin and mineral content. Not to mention açai is what I consider to be one of many beauty foods as it’s rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamins (Vitamin C for collagen production and free radical damage), and healthy fats (for skin elasticity, moisture retention, and healthy hormone production). Açai berries contain anti-inflammatory benefits, cholesterol lowering benefits, and anti-cancer benefits as with many other fruits and vegetables.”

Bananas act as a prebiotic, stimulating the growth of friendly bacteria in the bowel. They also produce digestive enzymes to assist in absorbing nutrients. Bananas can also help overcome depression due to the high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin, the happy mood brain neurotransmitter. A potassium rich diet not only keeps our skin looking dewy and youthful but it can also help lower blood pressure and lower the risk of heart disease by 27%.

Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity of all commonly consumed fruits and vegetables. The antioxidants in blueberries have benefits for the brain, helping to improve brain function and delaying age-related decline.

This month we have collaborated with our lovely guest blogger Suzy of Peppermint Wellness to bring you a nutrition packed brain boosting blueberry smoothie! Available here at The Garden all month this smoothie will make your brain buzz, your skin glow and bursting with good healthy fats it’ll keep you full up til lunch!

Our veggie packed broth is a great source of comfort if you’re feeling run down and want something warm and nourishing this January.  It’s a wonderful cleanser and winter warmer after the indulgence of the festive season and helps to nourish and detox the digestive system. Full of immune boosting and vitamin and mineral rich winter veg here we give you the best kind of medicine; a tasty broth filled with soft, slow-cooked vegetables that soothes and nourishes.

It’s a rare thing to have avocado and cheesecake in the same sentence .. let alone in the same dessert! Our collaboration with guest blogger Spamella B brings you just that! This hugely nutritious raw dessert created by Pamela, has neither cheese nor cake in it… but is sooooooo worth the guilt free indulgence! Pop in this month to try it for yourself and keep your eyes peeled for the recipe which we will send out in February’s newsletter!
