What is a Juice Cleanse?

A juice cleanse helps to detoxify and replenish the body with the help of raw, cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juices. A juice cleanse can benefit your skin, sleep and even your immunity! Instead of eating you are provided with nutrition packed vegetables and fruit juices to have throughout the day, giving your digestive system a rest in order to help your body assimilate the correct nutrients whilst removing toxins. Juice cleansing is by far the quickest, safest and most effective way to detox, helping the body absorb nutrients whilst disposing toxic residues and kickstarting healthy habits. Great for your gut!

What are the benefits of a juice cleanse?

A raw juice cleanse is a great way to detoxify the body, helping with nutrient absorption while getting rid of toxins. Rather than eating food, you are provided with 5-6 drinks throughout the day that give your digestive system a much-needed rest. The positive side of juice cleansing is probably pretty obvious — you're consuming plenty of fruits and vegetables, which we know should make up half of our plate. Benefits of juice cleansing and cleanses can include feeling refreshed, stronger immune system, better digestion, healthy weight loss, improved energy and well-being, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, increased energy, improved creativity, better skin, hair & nails. Sounds amazing! Overall, a juice cleanse can help to support a healthier body and mind. Flood your body with nutrients and vitamins!

What happens to my body during a cleanse?

During a juice cleanse, your body undergoes a variety of changes as it shifts from a diet primarily made up of solid foods to one comprised primarily of liquid, nutrient-rich juices. The first two days of your juice cleanse are likely to be the most challenging as toxins start to shift and your body adapts. You may experience symptoms such as headaches (particularly if your body is experiencing caffeine withdrawal) aching muscles, flu-like symptoms and sweating. These are actually good signs that indicate your body is beginning the cleansing process and trying to heal. Preparing ahead of the cleanse by reducing or eliminating caffeine, and eating a lighter vegan diet can help to reduce these symptoms.

By day 3 the detox symptoms should start to diminish, and you will start to feel lighter, more energised and clearer in mind and body. The deeper cleansing process of autolysis starts. This is when your body starts to selectively decompose cells which are diseased, damaged, aged or dead and starts to produce new cells, which are full of energy, producing long lasting benefits.

How long should I cleanse for?

We would recommend a maximum of 7 days but it's a case by case basis. For beginners 1 to 3 days is suitable. For more experienced cleanses go for 5 to 7 days for better results.

When considering how long to juice cleanse, it's important to align your goals. If you're seeking a brief reset, 1 to 3 days may suffice. For those aiming to foster healthy habits and embrace a nutritional lifestyle, a week or more could be the ideal choice.

A 1 day juice cleanse is great for two purposes. It is the best way to introduce yourself to the process of the juice cleanse since it is not too demanding. And for those who are experienced with juice cleanses, the 1-day juice cleanse is a fine maintenance regimen to continually restore balance and health.

A 2-3 day juice cleanse is the most common length of time for this process.

Pushing the juice cleanse for as long as 7 days allows your body time to flush out the worst of the toxins. A cleanse of this kind and length can lay the groundwork for permanently eliminating things like smoking and consuming fast food.

Should I eat food on my cleanse?

During the cleanse, it is best to avoid solid foods if you can. Nevertheless, if you require an additional pick-me-up, we recommend considering nuts, seeds, fruits, or raw/steamed vegetables for a nourishing experience. Listen to your body and keep hydrated.

Will I lose weight?

Some may find it a breeze, others may find it a challenge. Some may see a positive weight loss but this is about more than short term weight loss; it’s about breaking habits, giving your body a rest and finding the healthiest version of you.

Our cleanses are thoughtfully designed to initiate your weight-loss journey. After completing the cleanse, you will hopefully experience a positive shift in your mindset towards food and develop a heightened awareness of your dietary choices. We firmly believe that this approach offers the most sustainable method for shedding unwanted pounds and maintaining a healthy weight.

We don’t promise weight loss only because that is not a primary function of a juice cleanse. The point is everyone’s body is different, so reactions to a juice cleanse will vary. The hope is our juice cleanse will encourage healthy eating and an active lifestyle, getting you to that ideal weight in no time!

By avoiding sugar, caffeine, and processed foods you get a head start on healthy eating.

Juice Cleansing Tips

- Shake your juices before drinking.

- While fasting, drink your juices at regular intervals throughout the day.

- Light exercise, take walks and rest.

- Stay hydrated! Drink at least 2L of water during the cleanse

- Relax and enjoy the break.

Aim to drink a juice every 2 to 3 hours. 5 juices a day might sound like a lot, but if you space your juices out over 12 hours, your body will thank you. Skipping juices will likely leave you feeling hungry and can result in a drop in your blood sugar, which can leave you feeling lethargic and maybe even give you a headache.

We truly hope that everyone will experience an effortless and comfortable cleanse, however we understand that is not always the case. Some supplements you can consider include herbal tea, lemon water or also just adding another juice to the line-up. If you are still having trouble combating the hunger, try having some vegetable broth or apple and cucumber slices. (Call it a little SOS and ensure you listen to your body) The goal is to stay healthy, so always keep that in consideration when supplementing your cleanse.

Why your cleanse should always be organic?

If you're thinking of doing a juice cleanse.... make it an organic one if you can.

If you value your health, the environment, or sustainable practices, choosing organic produce may be the right decision for you, we certainly think it is for our cold pressed juices, smoothies, shots & tonics. Consider the impact of pesticides and opt for organic fruits and vegetables where possible, we appreciate it costs more but we certainly think it is worth it.

Organic fruits and vegetables offer several potential benefits, both for personal health and the environment. Here are some of the key advantages associated with consuming organic produce and the fruit and veg used in our juices:

  1. Reduce your exposure to pesticides with organic farming
  2. Unlock the nutritional power of organic produce for a healthier you and better tasting juice.
  3. No GMOs: Organic foods are not genetically modified. Choose organic fruits and vegetables for a non-GMO option.
  4. Support sustainable agriculture with organic farming: prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and sustainability. Use crop rotation, cover cropping, and natural pest control. Make farming more environmentally friendly.
  5. Organic farming has lower environmental impact than conventional farming. It promotes healthy soil, reduces erosion, and minimizes water pollution.
  6. No Synthetic Growth Hormones: Organic produce is grown without synthetic growth hormones, promoting natural growth without chemicals.
  7. Organic produce tastes better and has more flavour than conventional produce (IMO)
  8. Organic farming extends to animal products like eggs, dairy, and meat. Animals raised organically have more space to roam, access to the outdoors, and a diet that meets organic standards.
  9. Organic Farms are havens for wildlife. On average, plant, insect and bird life is 50% more abundant on organic farms and there are around 75% more wild bees.
  10. Choose organic to support local economies and smaller-scale farmers.
  11. Organic animal products are antibiotic and hormone-free.

What is the shelf life of my juice?

As the juices are simply pressed and bottled immediately, with no processing or preservatives added, we recommend drinking your juice within four days to benefit from the highest nutrient potential.
